高职学生英语口语焦虑状况的调查与研究的中期报告 Introduction Englishoralcommunicationabilityisanimportantskillthatisrequiredofcollegestudents.Asglobalizationcontinues,itisbecomingincreasinglyimportantforstudentstobeabletocommunicateeffectivelyinEnglish.However,manyvocationalcollegestudentsinChinalackthenecessaryEnglish-speakingskills,andasaresult,sufferfromanxietyandstresswhenitcomestospeakingEnglish.Thismid-termreportaimstoinvestigatetheanxietylevelsofvocationalcollegestudentsinrelationtotheirEnglish-speakingability,andtoproviderecommendationsforimprovingtheiroralEnglishskills. Methodology Theresearchwasconductedusingasurveyquestionnairethatwasdistributedamongvocationalcollegestudents.Thesurveywasdesignedtogatherinformationonthestudents'anxietylevelsrelatedtotheirEnglish-speakingskills.Thequestionnaireincludedopen-endedandclose-endedquestions,andwassenttoasampleof150vocationalcollegestudents. Results TheresultsofthesurveyindicatethatvocationalcollegestudentsexperiencehighlevelsofanxietywhenitcomestospeakingEnglish.Themajorityofthestudents(60%)reportedmoderatelevelsofanxiety,while30%reportedhighlevelsofanxiety.Only10%reportedlowlevelsofanxiety.Themainreasonsidentifiedforthehighlevelsofanxietywerelackofconfidence,fearofmakingmistakes,andlackofopportunitytopracticespeakingEnglish. Conclusion ThefindingsofthestudysuggestthatvocationalcollegestudentsinChinaexperiencesignificantanxietywhenitcomestospeakingEnglish.Inordertoimprovetheiroralcommunicationskills,itisimportantforcollegesanduniversitiestoprovidemoreopportunitiesforstudentstopracticespeakingEnglishinasupportiveenvironment.ThiscanincludeEnglish-speakingclubs,conversationpartners,andmoreinteractiveclassroomactivities.Additionally,studentsshouldbeencouragedtobuildtheirconfidencebypracticingwiththeirclassmatesandseekingfeedbackfromtheirprofessors.Byreducinganxietylevelsandbuildingconfidence,vocationalcollegestudentscanimprovetheirEnglish-speakingskillsandincreasetheirchancesofsuccessintheglobaljobmarket.
