Methodology Asurveyquestionnairewasconductedamong200highschoolstudentsingrade10andabove.Thequestionnairecoveredthefollowingaspects:demographicinformation,writinghabits,perceivedcausesofwritinganxiety,andcopingstrategies. Results 1.Demographicinformation:Amongthe200participants,54%weremaleand46%werefemale,withanagerangefrom15to19. 2.Writinghabits:Asforwritinghabits,81%oftheparticipantsspentlessthan2hoursperweekwritinginEnglish,and42%seldomwroteinEnglishoutsideofclass. 3.Perceivedcausesofwritinganxiety:Theleadingcausesofwritinganxietywerefearofmakingmistakes(77%),lackofconfidenceingrammarandvocabulary(65%),lackofideas(53%),andinadequatewritingskills(48%). 4.Copingstrategies:Themostcommonlyusedcopingstrategieswereseekinghelpfromteachersandpeers(72%),practicingwritingfrequently(68%),andusingonlineresources(46%). Discussion TheresultsindicatethatthemajorityofhighschoolstudentsinChinalacksufficientwritingpracticeandfeelanxiouswhenwritinginEnglish.Thereasonsforthisanxietyvary,buttheyareoftenrelatedtoconcernsaboutmakingmistakes,lackofconfidence,ideageneration,andwritingskills.Toalleviatethisproblem,itisrecommendedthatEnglishteachersshouldprovidemoreopportunitiesforstudentstopracticewriting,offerconstructivefeedback,andhelpstudentstodevelopapositiveattitudetowardswriting.Additionally,studentsshouldbeencouragedtoactivelyseekhelpfromteachersandtheirpeers,useonlineresourcestoimprovetheirwritingskills,anddeveloptheirownpersonalwritingroutines. Conclusion ThisresearchshedslightontheissueofwritinganxietyamonghighschoolstudentsinChinaandprovidesusefulinsightsintothecausesandcopingstrategiesforthisphenomenon.Furtherresearchshouldbeconductedtoexaminetheeffecti
