Introduction TheHai'anMeetingwasanimportantconferenceheldinChinain1957.ItwasattendedbykeyfiguresintheCommunistPartyofChinaandaimedtopromotethedevelopmentofthecountry'sagriculturalsector.ThedocumentsproducedduringthemeetingareanimportanthistoricalrecordoftheCommunistParty'spoliciesandprioritiesatthattime. However,translatingthesedocumentsintoEnglishpresentsanumberofchallenges,particularlyinrelationtothetranslationofpost-modifyingattributes.Apost-modifyingattributeisaphraseorclausethatfollowsanounandprovidesadditionalinformationaboutit.InChinese,post-modifyingattributesareoftenusedtoprovidecontextandexplainthemeaningofanoun.However,translatingtheseattributesintoEnglishcanbedifficultbecausetheorderandstructureofsentencesinChineseisdifferentfromthatofEnglish. Objectives Theaimofthisstudyistoexplorethetranslationofpost-modifyingattributesinthedocumentsoftheHai'anMeeting.Thespecificobjectivesare: 1.Toidentifythepatternsandstrategiesusedinthetranslationofpost-modifyingattributesinthedocumentsoftheHai'anMeeting. 2.Toanalyzetheeffectivenessandaccuracyofthesestrategiesinconveyingtheintendedmeaningoftheoriginaltext. 3.Toproviderecommendationsforimprovingthetranslationofpost-modifyingattributesinsimilartexts.
