InthecontextofteachingEnglishwritinginvocationalschools,TBLTcanbeappliedinanumberofways.Firstly,teacherscandesignwritingtasksthatarerelevanttostudents'futurecareers.Forexample,ifstudentsarestudyingtobecomeelectricians,thetaskcouldbetowriteareportonarecentelectricalinstallationtheyhaveworkedon,usingtechnicallanguageandappropriateterminology. Secondly,TBLTcanbeusedtoencouragecollaborationandinteractionamongstudents.Groupprojectsthatrequirestudentstoworktogethertoachieveacommongoalcanhelptodevelopteamworkskillsaswellaslanguageskills. Finally,TBLTcanbeusedtopromotelearnerautonomy.Bygivingstudentstheresponsibilitytoplanandcarryoutatask,andprovidingthemwiththeresourcestheyneedtocompleteit,theybecomemoreself-directedlearners. Inconclusion,TBLTisausefulapproachforteachingEnglishwritinginvocationalschoolsasitprovidesstudentswithopportunitiestopracticeusingthelanguageinreal-lifesituations,promotescollaborationandinteraction,andencourageslearnerautonomy.
