摘要

随着我国高等教育管理体制改革的深入，高等学校办学自主权的扩大，本科教
学工作水平评估的推动，办学特色成为当前高等教育界最受关注的热点之一。办学
特色是高等学校的生命线，是高等学校核心竞争力的集中体现，也是增强我国高等
教育综合实力的着力点。走特色办学道路，既是高等学校的生存战略，也是高等学
校的发展战略；实现特色办学，既是符合工具理性的选择，更是符合价值理性的选
择。然而，各种迹象表明我国多数高等学校的办学特色并不鲜明。
本论文从办学特色的内涵、性质、构成等基本问题出发，分析了制约办学特色
形成的影响因素，探讨了办学特色与大学发展的关系。然后以本科教学工作水平评
估自评报告为素材，对我国高等学校办学特色的现状进行了梳理，总结了办学特色
提炼准确的案例及原因，发现了办学特色提炼难主要有两方面的原因：一是对办学
特色理解不准确，二是学校本身特色不鲜明。针对这些问题，本论文以华中科技大
学为案例，对其办学特色的内容、提炼和培育过程进行了剖析。
基于案例分析结果，笔者认为国内高校可从以下几方面加强办学特色培育：发
挥校长舵手作用；传承大学优质文化；扩大学科专业优势；优化人才培养模式；善
用办学自主权；引入公平竞争机制。

Abstract

Alongwiththegradualdeepeningofthereformofhighereducationadministration
system,thewideningoftheautonomyofhighereducationinstitutions,thepromotingof
UndergraduateTeachingEvaluation,schoolcharacteristicsbecameoneofthe
most-concernedissuesinhighereducation.Schoolcharacteristicsarethepriorityissueof
highereducationinstitutions,theconcentratedexpressionofthecorecompetitiveness,and
thefocustoenhancetheoverallstrengthofChina'shighereducationaswell.Following
thedevelopingrouteofschoolcharacteristicsisnotonlythesurvivalstrategy,butalsoa
developmentstrategyoftheinstitutions;meanwhile,itisinlinewithbothtoolrationality
andvaluerationality.However,kindsofphenomenaindicatethatthecharacteristicsof
manycollegesanduniversitiesinourcountryarenotdistinctandstrikingenough.
Startingwiththefundamentalissuesregardingthecontent,natureandcompositionof
schoolcharacteristics,thepaperanalyzedtherestrictionfactorsregardingtheformationof
schoolcharacteristics,andprobedintotherelationshipbetweencharacteristicsandthe
developmentoftheuniversitiesandcolleges.Thenbasedontheself-assessmentreportsof
UndergraduateTeachingEvaluation,thepapermadeathoroughresearchintothecurrent
statusoftheschoolcharacteristics,summedupthecasesandreasonswhysome
institutionscanrefineandcultivateschoolcharacteristicsaccuratelyandconveniently.
