Abstract:Thenatureoflanguageistocommunicate.Communicationisabridge,throughwhichpeoplecantransferandgettheinformationtheyneed.Themovie’sdialogueisalsothewaytocommunicate.Itisanimportantwaytodescribethecharacters’innerfeelings,activitiesandtheircharacteristics.Thefilmtriestoinflectitscommunicationpurposebythedialogues.Inthispaper,IwilluseLeech’sPolitenessPrincipleandBrown’sFaceTheorytoanalyzethedialogueinTheKing’sSpeech,andmakeadeepanalysisonitscharacterssoastoletreadershavebetteradmirationsonthismovie.Atthesametime,ifweuseourpragmaticknowledge,wecanunderstandthefilm’sdeepmeaninganditsart’sfeature.

1.Introduction
Thefilmshowsitscommunicationaimsthroughdialogue,whichcannotonlytheaudienceunderstandthedevelopmentofplotalsocandeepentheunderstandingofauthor’sintention.Hence,throughanalyzingthefilm’sdialoguecandissectcharacter’sinnerfeelings,activitiesandhischaracteristicssoastohelpaudienceunderstandthefilmbetter.
Leech’sPolitenessPrinciple
AmericanlinguisticsH.P.GriceproposedtheCooperativePrinciple(CPforshort)intheWilliamJameslecturedeliveredatHarvardUniversity.GricethinksthatpeoplealluseCPbothconsciouslyandunconsciouslywhentheyuselanguagetocommunicate.However,Grice’sCooperativePrincipleisnotexplainsufficiently(1)whypeopleareoftensoindirectinconveyingwhattheymeanand(2）whatistherelationbetweensenseandforcewhennon-declarationtypesofsentencesarebeingconsidered[1]Asaresult,in1983,LeechproposedPolitenessPrinciplesoastorescuetheCPfromtrouble.LeechbelievesthemainreasonthatpeopleviolateCPintentlyistheconsiderationofpoliteness.
