Introduction: Maizeisastaplecropthatplaysavitalroleinensuringfoodsecurityglobally.Thedevelopmentofthetassel,themalereproductiveorganofmaize,iscloselylinkedtotheproductivityandkernelqualityofthecrop.Theregulationoftasseldevelopmentisacomplexprocessinfluencedbyvariousgeneticfactors.TheTD1andFEA2geneshavebeenidentifiedaskeyregulatorsoftasseldevelopmentinmaize.TD1,alsoknownasTeosintebranched1,controlsthebranchingpatternofthetassel,whereasFEA2,orfilamentelongation1,isinvolvedintheelongationofthetasselfilaments.Understandingthesequencevariationsinthesegenesandtheirassociationwithyield-relatedtraitsiscriticalforimprovingmaizeyieldandquality. Methods: ToinvestigatethesequencevariationsinTD1andFEA2genes,weobtainedDNAsamplesfromadiversepanelofmaizelines.PCRamplificationfollowedbyDNAsequencingwascarriedouttoidentifythevariantswithinthecodingandregulatoryregionsofTD1andFEA2.Theobtainedsequenceswereanalyzedusingvariousbioinformaticstoolstopredictthepotentialfunctionalimpactoftheobservedvariants.Additionally,wecollectedphenotypicdatarelatedtoyieldtraitsofthemaizelinesinourstudy,includingearlength,kernelnumberperear,andgrainweightperear.Statisticalanalyseswereperformedtoexaminethecorrelationsbetweentheident
