I.LackofAlignmentwithCurriculum: OneofthemainchallengesinusingpicturebooksforEnglishinstructionisthelackofalignmentwiththecurriculum.Manypicturebooksmaynotcoverthespecificlanguageskillsortopicsrequiredbythecurriculum.Toaddressthisissue,teachersshouldcarefullyselectpicturebooksthatcomplementthecurriculumandcreatesupplementarymaterialstobridgeanygaps.Additionally,educatorscanadaptandmodifythecontentofthepicturebooktoincorporatetherequiredlanguageskillsandtopics. II.LimitedLanguageExposure: Anotherchallengeisthelimitedexposuretoauthenticlanguageinpicturebooks.Whilepicturebooksprovideanimmersivevisualexperience,thelanguageusedinthesebooksmaybesimplifiedorrepetitive.Toovercomethischallenge,teachersshouldsupplementpicturebookswithauthenticmaterials,suchasvideos,songs,andreal-lifeexamples.Thiswillhelpstudentsdevelopabroadervocabulary,improvelisteningskills,andenhanceoveralllanguageproficiency. III.LackofLanguageProductionOpportunities: Picturebooksoftenfocusonreceptivelanguageskills,suchasreadingandlistening,whileneglectingproductiveskillslikespeakingandwriting.Toencouragelanguageproduction,teacherscanincorporatevariousactivities,suchasrole-plays,groupdiscussions,andwritingexercises,basedonthethemesandcharactersinthepicturebooks.ThiswillprovidestudentswithopportunitiestopracticeexpressingthemselvesinEnglishandpromotelanguagefluency. IV.LimitedCulturalContext: ManypicturebookstendtobebasedonWesternculturalcontexts,whichmaynotberelatableorfamiliartostudentsfromdifferentculturalbackgrounds.T
