Adsorptionisawell-establishedtechniqueforseparatingmetalionsfromsolution.D301resinisawidelyusedadsorbentinindustrialapplications.Inthisstudy,thefocusisontheadsorptionofrhenium(VII)byD301resin. Methodology: Theadsorptionofrhenium(VII)byD301resinwasinvestigatedinbatchexperiments.TheeffectofvariousparameterssuchaspH,contacttime,resindose,andinitialconcentrationofrhenium(VII)ontheadsorptionefficiencywasstudied.Theanalysisofrhenium(VII)concentrationsinthesolutionbeforeandafteradsorptionwascarriedoutbyinductivelycoupledplasmaopticalemissionspectrometry(ICP-OES).TheLangmuirandFreundlichisothermmodelswereusedtoanalyzetheadsorptionmechanism. ResultsandDiscussion: TheeffectofpHontheadsorptionofrhenium(VII)byD301resinwasinvestigatedinthepHrangeof1-8.TheresultsindicatethatthemaximumadsorptionefficiencywasachievedatpH5.AtlowerpHlevels,theadsorptionefficiencydecreasedduetothecompetitionofH+ionswithrhenium(VII)ionsforadsorptionsitesontheresin.AthigherpHlevels,theadsorptionofrhenium(VII)washinderedduetotheformationofrhenium(VII)hydroxides. Theeffectofcontacttimeontheadsorptionefficiencywasstudiedbyvaryingthecontacttimefrom5to120minutes.Theresultsshowthattheadsorptionefficiencyincreasedwithincreasingcontacttimeandreachedequilibriumafter60minutes. Theeffectofresindoseontheadsorptionefficiencywasstudiedbyvaryingtheamountofresinfrom0.5to3.5g/L.TheresultsshowedthattheoptimaldoseofD301resinwas1.5g/L,whichachievedthemaximumadsorptionefficiency. Theeffectofinitialconcentrationofrhenium(VII)ontheadsorptionefficiencywasstudiedbyvaryingtheinitialconcentrationfrom10to80mg/L.Theresultsshowedthattheadsorptionefficiencydecreasedw
