大学英语翻译教学行动研究 Introduction Inrecentyears,withthedevelopmentofglobalization,Englishhasbecomeanincreasinglyimportantlanguageinhighereducation.Asaresult,theteachingofEnglishtranslationhasgainedgreaterattentioninuniversitiesworldwide.Inthispaper,thefocuswillbeontheactionresearchintheteachingofEnglishtranslationinhighereducation. OverviewofEnglishTranslationTeaching Englishtranslationteachinginvolvesthetransferofmeaningfromonelanguagetoanother.Itusuallytakestheformofwrittentranslation,butitmayalsoinvolveoraltranslationorinterpretation,dependingonthespecificteachingobjectives.ThemaingoalofEnglishtranslationteachingistodevelopstudents’languageproficiencyandinterculturalcommunicationcompetence.Intheprocessofteaching,studentsareexpectedtoacquirethefollowingskills:accuratecomprehensionofthesourcelanguagetext;effectiveexpressionofthetargetlanguagetext;adequateunderstandingoftheculturalandsocio-linguisticcontextofbothlanguages;andcriticaljudgmentinselectingappropriatetranslationstrategies. ActionResearchinEnglishTranslationTeaching Actionresearchisaresearchmethodthatemphasizestheintegrationofresearchandpractice,andaimstoimprovethequalityofeducationalpracticesbygeneratingpracticalknowledgethroughacyclicalprocessofplanning,acting,observingandreflecting.InthecontextofEnglishtranslationteaching,actionresearchisapowerfultoolforteachersandresearcherstoimprovestudents’learningoutcomes,enhancetheirmotivationandengagement,andrefinetheirteachingstrategies. AnexampleofactionresearchinEnglishtranslationteachingisthestudyconductedbyWangandLi(2017)inaChineseuniversity.TheresearchersdesignedacourseonEnglish-Chinesetranslationfornon-Englishmajorsandimplementedaseriesofclassroomactivitiesthataimedtofacilitatestudents’translationcompetenceintermsofaccuracy,fluency,andculturalawareness.Theresearchprocessinvolvedplanningandpreparation,implementationandobservation,reflectionandrevision.Theresultsshowedthatthestudents’translationproficiencyandconfidencehadimprovedsignificantly,andtheyhaddevelopedadee
