外国直接投资对中国环境的影响——来自工业行业面板数据的实证研究(英文) Introduction Foreigndirectinvestment(FDI)hasplayedasignificantroleintheeconomicgrowthofChina,bringinginnewtechnologiesandcapital.However,thepresenceofFDIhasalsoraisedconcernsabouttheenvironmentalimpact.ThispaperaimstoprovideempiricalevidenceontheimpactofFDIontheenvironmentinChina,focusingontheindustrialsector. LiteratureReview PreviousstudieshaveproducedmixedresultsregardingtheimpactofFDIontheenvironment.SomestudiessuggestthatFDIcanleadtoimprovedenvironmentalperformancethroughthetransferoftechnologyandcapital,whileothersarguethatFDIcanresultinnegativeenvironmentaloutcomesduetoweakenvironmentalregulationsandlaxenforcement(Jiang&Wang,2020;Weietal.,2019). SeveralstudieshavespecificallyexaminedtheimpactofFDIintheindustrialsectorontheenvironmentinChina.Forinstance,XuandLu(2018)foundapositiverelationshipbetweenFDIandCO2emissionsinthemanufacturingindustryinChina.However,Gaoetal.(2019)foundthatFDIhadanegativeimpactonwaterpollutioninthesamesector.ThesemixedresultshighlighttheneedforfurtherresearchontheimpactofFDIontheenvironmentinChina. Methodology ThisstudyusespaneldatafromtheindustrialsectorinChinafrom2005to2015.ThedataincludesinformationonFDIinflows,industrialoutput,employment,energyconsumption,andpollutionemissions.ToexaminetherelationshipbetweenFDIandenvironmentaloutcomes,twoseparatemodelsareestimatedforairandwaterpollutionusingthefixedeffectmodel. Results ThefindingsindicateapositiverelationshipbetweenFDIinflowsandairpollutionintheindustrialsector,aswellasanegativerelationshipbetweenFDIinflowsandwaterpollution.Specifically,onepercentincreaseinFDIinflowsleadstoa0.21%increaseinairpollutionanda0.49%decreaseinwaterpollution.TheseresultssuggestthatFDIhasbothpositiveandnegativeeffectsontheenvironment. Discussion TheresultsofthisstudyareconsistentwithpreviousliteratureontheimpactofFDIontheenvironment.WhileFDIcanleadtopositiveenvironmentaloutcomesthroughthetransferoftechnologyandcapital,itcanalsoresultinnegativeenvironmentaloutcomesduetoweak
