Simulink-basedMotionSimulation: Simulinkisapowerfultoolusedformodeling,simulating,andanalyzingdynamicsystems.Ithasbeenwidelyusedintheautomotiveindustrytosimulatethemotionofenginesandtheircomponents.Inthisstudy,Simulinkwasusedtosimulatethemotionofthecrankshaftandanalyzeitsperformance. ThefirststepwastocreateaSimulinkmodelofthecrankshaft.Themodelwascomposedofthefollowingcomponents:theengineblock,theconnectingrod,thepiston,andthecrankshaft.Thesimulationsoftwarewasusedtosimulatethemotionofthepistonandconnectingrod,andhencethemotionofthecrankshaft. Thesimulationmodelwasevaluatedforvariousdesignparametersofthecrankshaft,suchascrankradius,throw,andphaseangle.Themotionsimulationwasevaluatedforvariousperformanceparameterssuchascrankshafttorque,angularacceleration,andvelocity. ImprovedAdaptiveGeneticAlgorithm: Thegeneticalgorithmisaheuristicoptimizationmethodbasedontheprincipleofnaturalselectionandgeneticinheritance.However,ithassomelimitationsliketrappingatalocalminimumandslowconvergence. So,weproposedanimprovedadaptivegeneticalgorithmthatovercomestheselimitations.Theadaptivealgorithmintroducesamutationoperatorthatusesanon-uniformdistributionprobabilitytoenhancetheexplorationcapabilityofthealgorithm.Also,acrossoveroperatorwasintroducedbasedontheparentselectiontoensurethequalityoftheoffspring.Theadaptivealgorithmusesanadaptivemutationratecontrolledbythefitnessofthepopulation. CrankshaftOptimization: Theoptimizeddesignofthecrankshaftwasa
