ARINC429BusInterface Abusinterfaceisanelectroniccircuitthatprovidesacommunicationpathwaybetweentheprocessorandotherelectronicdevices.InthecaseofARINC429,theinterfaceprovidesaserialcommunicationchannelforexchangingdatabetweentheavionicssystems.TheARINC429protocoldefinesthemessageformat,timingrequirements,andelectricalcharacteristicsofthedata. TheARINC429businterfacetypicallyconsistsofatransceiver,controller,andassociatedcircuitry.Thetransceiverisresponsibleforconvertingthedigitalsignalsfromthecontrollertotheappropriateelectricalsignalsfortransmissionoverthebus.ThecontrollermanagesthetransmissionandreceptionofdataontheARINC429busaccordingtotheprotocolspecification.
