SynthesisofNiMoNcatalyst: TheNiMoNcatalystutilizedinthisstudywassynthesizedviathetemperature-programmedreactionmethod.ThestartingmaterialsutilizedwereNi(NO3)2,(NH4)6Mo7O24·4H2OandNH4Cl.Theywerecarefullyweighedandmixedintherequiredproportionsunderaninertatmosphere.Theresultantmixturewasthenheatedupto450°Catarateof5°C/minunderaflowinggasmixtureof10%H2inAr.Itwaskeptatthistemperaturefor8hoursandthencooleddowntoroomtemperaturenaturally.Theproductobtainedwaswashedwithdistilledwatertoremoveanyimpuritiesandthendriedat120°Cfor4hours. CharacterizationofNiMoNcatalyst: ThesynthesizedNiMoNcatalystwascharacterizedusingseveralanalyticaltechniques.X-raydiffraction(XRD)analysisrevealedtheformationofNiMoNcrystalswithaface-centeredcubicstructure.Theaverageparticlesizewasestimatedtobearound40nm.Scanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM)imagesshowedauniformdistributionoftheNiMoNcrystalsonthesupport.X-rayphotoelectronspectroscopy(XPS)analysisindicatedthepresenceofNi,Mo,Nandsmallamountsofoxygeninthecatalyst.TheNi/Moratiowasfoundtobearound1:3. ApplicationofNiMoNcatalystinbenzenehydrogenationreactioninthepresenceofthiophene: TheperformanceofthesynthesizedNiMoNcatalystwasevaluatedinthebenzenehydrogenationreactioninthepresenceofthiophene.ThereactionwascarriedoutinastainlesssteelautoclavewiththeNiMoNcatalystasthecatalyst.Benzeneandthiophenewereusedasthereactants,whileH2wasusedasthehydrogensource.Thereactionwascarriedoutatatemperatureof150°C,apressureof3MPaandareactiontimeof3hours. TheresultsobtainedshowedthatthesynthesizedNiMoNcatalystexhibitedexcellentcatalyticactivityands
