SBBRprocessfortreatingpigwastewaterandremovingnitrogenandphosphorus Thesequencingbatchbiofilmreactorisakindofaerobicbiologicaltreatmenttechnologythatcombinesthecharacteristicsofabiofilmprocessandasequencingbatchreactor.Ithasaseriesofoperatingcycles,includingfeeding,reaction,settlement,anddischarge.Duringeachcycle,thereactoralternatesbetweenanoxicandaerobicconditions,whichcaneffectivelystripnitrogenandphosphorusfromthepigwastewater. TheSBBRprocessinvolvestheuseofmicroorganismsthatattachtoabiofilmonfixedcarriers.Thesemicroorganismsplayanimportantroleindegradingorganicpollutantsandremovingnutrientssuchasnitrogenandphosphorusfromthewastewater.Nitrogenremovalisachievedprimarilythroughnitrificationanddenitrificationprocesses.Theammoniumnitrogeninthewastewaterisfirstoxidizedtonitriteandthentonitrateunderaerobicconditions.Thenitrateisthenreducedtoinertnitrogengasunderanoxicconditionsthroughdenitrification.Phosphorusremovalisachievedprimarilybytheformationofphosphateprecipitateswithmetalcationssuchascalcium,aluminum,andiron.
