Introduction: Leatherisawidelyusedmaterialinmanyindustries,includingfashion,automobile,andfurniture.Intheproductionprocessofleather,theshrinkagetemperatureisacrucialparameterthatdeterminesthequalityofthefinalproduct.Theshrinkagetemperaturereferstothetemperatureatwhichtheleatherstartstoshrinkandloseitsshape. Traditionally,theshrinkagetemperatureofleatherisdeterminedthroughmanualtesting,whichistime-consumingandsubjective.Therefore,itisessentialtodevelopareliableandaccurateinstrumenttomeasuretheshrinkagetemperatureofleather.Inrecentyears,variousinstrumentshavebeendevelopedforthispurpose,andamongthem,thePIDcontrolleriswidelyused. However,thePIDcontrollerhaslimitationsindealingwithuncertaintiesandnonlinearitiesinthesystem.Toovercometheselimitations,fuzzylogiccontrolisintroducedtotheleathershrinkagetemperaturetestinginstrument.Fuzzylogiccanhandleuncertaintiesandimpreciseinformationinthesystemandprovidebetterperformance. TheaimofthispaperistopresentafuzzyPIDleathershrinkagetemperaturetestinginstrumentcontrolsystemdesigntoimprovetheaccuracyandreliabilityofthemeasurement. Methodology: Theproposedcontrolsystemdesignconsistsofafuzzyinferencesystem,afuzzyPIDcontroller,andafeedbackloop.Theinputofthefuzzyinferencesystemistheerrorbetweenthedesiredshrinkagetemperatureandtheactualtemperaturemeasuredbytheinstrument.Theoutputofthefuzzyinferencesystemisthedegreeofmembershipoftheerrorindifferentlinguisticvariables(e.g.,large,medium,small,etc.). ThefuzzyPIDcontrollertakesthedegreeofmembershipasinputandcalculatesthecontrolsignalaccordingly.Thecontrolsignalisthensenttotheheatingelementoftheinstrumenttoadjustthetemperature.Thefeedbackloopcontinuouslymonitorsthetemperatureandadjuststhecontrolsignalinreal-timetomaintainthedesire
