Introduction Scalingisacommonissueinindustrialwatersystems,asitleadstoreducedefficiencyandincreasedcosts.Inordertopreventtheformationofscale,variousmethodshavebeendeveloped,includingtheuseofwaterstabilizers.Organicphosphonicacidwaterstabilizershavebecomeincreasinglypopularduetotheireffectivenessandenvironmentalfriendliness.Thisstudyaimedtocomparetheeffectivenessofseveralorganicphosphonicacidwaterstabilizersinpreventingscaleformationinindustrialwatersystems. MaterialsandMethods Theexperimentwasconductedinacontrolledlaboratoryenvironmentusingsyntheticwater.Fourorganicphosphonicacidwaterstabilizerswereused,includingpolyasparticacid,ethylenediaminetetra(methylenephosphonicacid)(EDTMP),hydroxyethylidenediphosphonicacid(HEDP),and1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonicacid(HEDPD).Theconcentrationofeachwaterstabilizerwassetat10mg/L.ThepHofthesyntheticwaterwasadjustedto7.5.Theexperimentwasconductedforaperiodof30dayswithregularmonitoringofthescaleformation. Results Theresultsshowedthatallfourorganicphosphonicacidwaterstabilizerswereeffectiveinpreventingscaleformation.However,theeffectivenessvariedsignificantlybetweenthedifferentwaterstabilizers.Polyasparticacidwasfoundtobethemosteffectiveinpreventingscaleformation,withnovisiblescaleformationthroughoutthe30-dayexperiment.EDTMPandHEDPwerealsoeffectiveinpreventingscaleformation,butvisiblescaleformationwasobservedafter22daysand25daysrespectively.HEDPDwasfoundtobetheleasteffective,asvisiblescaleformationwasob
