Thisstudyutilisedsimulationsoftwaretoinvestigatetheeffectsofvariousinsulationandshieldingmaterialsonthelightningshieldperformanceoftheline.Theresultsindicatethattheuseofappropriateinsulationandshieldmaterialscansignificantlyimprovethelightningshieldperformanceofthetransmissionline,therebyenhancingthereliabilityandsafetyofthepowersystem. TheYunGuangTehigh-voltagedirectcurrent(HVDC)transmissionlineisacrucialcomponentoftheChinesepowergrid,capableoftransmittinglargeamountsofpoweroverlongdistanceswithlowlossesandhighefficiency.However,lightningstrikesposesasignificantthreattopowertransmissionlines,anditiscrucialtoevaluatethelightningshieldingperformanceoftheline.
