Introduction Footballrobotsofferachallengingandexcitingtaskforresearcherstodevelopintelligentsystemsthatcanoutperformhumanplayers.Thevisionsystem,asoneofthekeycomponentsoftheserobots,isresponsibleforaccuratelydetectingtheballandotherplayers,trackingtheirmovements,andmakingstrategicdecisionsbasedontheobservedinformation.However,achievingrobustnessinthevisionsystemisaformidablechallengeduetothevariousdisturbancesthatcouldoccurduringagame.Theseincludechangesinlightingconditions,occlusionsduetootherplayersorobstacles,anddynamicbackgrounds. Inthispaper,weproposearesearchmethodforarobustfootballrobotvisionsystemthatiscapableofhandlingthesedisturbances.Wewillfirstdiscussthechallengesindesigningarobustvisionsystem,followedbytheproposedmethodology,andfinally,theexperimentalresults. Challenges Thevisionsystemofafootballrobotshouldbeabletodetecttheballandotherplayersinreal-timewhileconstantlyadjustingtosuddenchangesintheenvironment.Thisrequiresthesystemtoberobusttodifferentlightingconditions,suchassunlight,indoorlighting,andartificialillumination,whichcansignificantlyaffectimagequality.Moreover,duetothedynamicnatureofthegame,occlusionscanoccuratanytime,whichcancausethevisionsystemtolosetrackofobjectsofinterest.Finally,thebackgroundofafootballfieldisalwayschanging,whichmakesitdifficulttoaccuratelytrackanddetectobjectsovertime.
