2009上海国际汽车耐候老化技术研讨会 （Introduction） Overtheyears,carshavebecomeanessentialmodeoftransportationandhavegreatlycontributedtothemobilityofpeopleandgoods.Withtheincreasingdemandforcars,itisimperativetoensuretheirdurabilityandlongevity.Weatheringisasignificantfactorthataffectstheperformanceofautomotivematerialssuchaspaint,plastic,andrubber.Therefore,studyingtheeffectsofweatheringoncarsanddevelopingtechnologiesthatcanenhancetheirdurabilityhasbecomenecessary.Thispaperaimstodiscussthe2009ShanghaiInternationalAutomotiveWeatheringTechnologySymposiumandhighlightsomeofthekeyfindingsdiscussedinthesymposium. （Discussion） The2009ShanghaiInternationalAutomotiveWeatheringTechnologySymposiumwasheldtodiscussthelatesttrends,technologies,andtechniquesforenhancingthedurabilityofautomotiveproducts.Thesymposiumbroughttogetherresearchers,engineers,andindustrialistsfromvariousindustriesandacademicinstitutionstosharetheirknowledgeandexperiencesinweatheringtesting,materialsselection,andproductdesignforautomotiveproducts. Oneofthekeytopicsthatwerediscussedinthesymposiumwastheimpactofsunlightoncarpaintsandcoatings.Sunlightexposurecancausepainttofade,crack,andchipaway,leadingtoaestheticandfunctionaldefects.Therefore,carmanufacturersneedtodevelopnewtypesofcoatingsthatcanwithstandsunlightexposureand,atthesametime,maintaintheirappearanceandperformance.Researcherspresentedseveralmethodsoftestingtheresistanceofcarpainttosunlightexposure,includingacceleratedweatheringtests,lightstabilitytests,andoutdoorexposuretests.Theyalsodiscussedthevarioustechniquesofapplyingcoatings,suchaselectrostaticspraying,dipping,androll-to-rollcoating.
