Introduction: Withtherapiddevelopmentofindustry,wastewaterpollutionhasbecomeamajorenvironmentalproblem.Oneofthemostcommonpollutantsinwastewateriscoloredsubstances,whichcanseriouslyaffectthequalityofwaterresources,poseathreattohumanhealth,andleadtoecologicaldamage.Methylorange,atypeofsyntheticdye,iswidelyusedinindustrialprocessessuchasleather,paper,andtextilemanufacturing.Thedischargeofmethylorangewastewaterhascausedseriousenvironmentalproblems.Variousmethods,suchascoagulation-flocculation,adsorption,andbiologicaltreatment,havebeenusedtotreatdyewastewater.However,thesemethodshavelimitations,suchaslowremovalefficiency,highcost,andthegenerationofsecondarypollution.Fentonreagenthasbeenshowntobeaneffectivemethodforthetreatmentofwastewater,especiallyforthedegradationoforganicpollutants.TheFentonreagentsystemcaneffectivelydegradeorganicpollutantsbygeneratinghydroxylradicals(•OH)throughthereactionbetweenFe2+andH2O2.
