Introduction Theadoptionofrenewableenergysourcesandenergy-efficienttechnologiesisessentialinreducingcarbonemissionsandachievingsustainabledevelopment.Amongthevariousheatingtechnologies,heatpumpsystemshavegainedincreasingpopularityduetotheirhighenergyefficiency,easymaintenance,andlowcarbonemissions.TheCO2-watercross-criticalheatpumpwaterheatersystemisanewlydevelopedtechnologythatoffersseveraladvantagesoverconventionalheatingsystems.ThissystemutilizesCO2astheworkingfluidandoperatesatahigh-pressurecriticalpointtoachievehighenergyefficiency. SystemComponents TheCO2-watercross-criticalheatpumpwaterheatersystemcomprisesanevaporator,acompressor,acondenser,anexpansionvalve,andawaterstoragetank.Thesystemworksontheprincipleofvaporcompressionrefrigeration,wheretherefrigerantabsorbsheatfromthewaterintheevaporator,andthecompressorthenincreasesthepressureoftherefrigerant,causingittobecomeahigh-temperatureandhigh-pressuregas.Thishigh-temperaturegasistransferredtothecondenser,whereitreleasesheattothewaterinthestoragetank.Therefrigerantthenpassesthroughtheexpansionvalve,reducingitspressureandtemperature,andreturnstotheevaporatortocompletethecycle.
