毛乌素沙地与植被有关的地下水环境研究(英文) ResearchontheGroundwaterEnvironmentRelatedtoVegetationintheMuUsSandland Introduction TheMuUsSandlandisatypicalsemi-aridareainnorthernChina.Duetoitsclimate,geologicalfeatures,andhumanactivities,theareaisfacingsevereenvironmentalproblems,suchasdesertification,soilerosion,andwatershortages.Vegetationplaysacrucialroleinimprovingtheecologicalenvironmentinthisarea.However,theavailabilityanddistributionofgroundwater,whichisavitalwatersourceforvegetationinthesandland,areaffectedbyvegetationcoverage.Therefore,theaimofthispaperistoanalyzetherelationshipbetweenvegetationandgroundwaterintheMuUsSandland. GroundwaterEnvironmentintheMuUsSandland ThehydrogeologicalcharacteristicsoftheMuUsSandlandshowthatthedominantaquiferintheareaisashallowunconfinedaquifer.Theaquiferhasaporousnature,whichallowswatertoinfiltrateeasily.However,therechargerateofgroundwaterintheMuUsSandlandislowbecauseofthearidclimate.Thegroundwaterfluxismainlycontrolledbyrainfall,riverdischarge,andinterflow.ThegroundwaterflowdirectionintheMuUsSandlandisfromthenortheasttothesouthwestbecauseoftheregionaltopography. VegetationCoverageintheMuUsSandland ThevegetationintheMuUsSandlandismainlycomposedofshrubsandgrasses.Thedistributionofvegetationintheareaiscloselyrelatedtotheclimateandsoilconditions.Thevegetationcoverageinthearearangesfrom5%to30%,withthehighestcoverageintheeastandthelowestinthewest.Thevegetationplaysavitalroleinmaintainingthestabilityofsanddunesandpreventingdesertification.Besides,vegetationalsocontributestowaterconservationandsoilerosioncontrolinthesandland. RelationshipbetweenVegetationandGroundwater Vegetationcouldalterthegroundwaterenvironmentinthefollowingways: 1.Vegetationpromotesinfiltrationandrechargeofgroundwaterthroughrootsystemandlitterfall; 2.Vegetationinterceptsprecipitationandreducesevaporation,whichpreservessoilmoistureandgroundwaterreserve; 3.Vegetationenhancesevapotranspiration,whichhelpstocreateapositivewaterbalanceinthesandyecosystem. Inaddition,thedistributionofveg
