Introduction: Acidleachingisacommonlyusedmethodfortheextractionofmetalsfromoresandwastematerials.However,theresultingacidleachingresidueoftencontainsaconsiderableamountofhazardousmetals,includinglead.Thedisposaloftheseresiduesposessignificantenvironmentalthreatsandnecessitatesthedevelopmentofeffectiverecoverymethods.Theprecipitationandconversionmethodprovidesapotentialsolutionfortherecoveryofleadfromacidleachingresidue. Methods: 1.Characterizationofacidleachingresidue:TheacidleachingresiduewascharacterizedusingtechniquessuchasX-rayfluorescence(XRF),X-raydiffraction(XRD),andscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM).Theanalysisprovidedvaluableinsightsintothecompositionandmorphologyoftheresidue. 2.Aciddissolutionprocess:Theaciddissolutionprocessinvolvedthedissolutionoftheacidleachingresidueinasuitableacidicsolution,followedbytheprecipitationandconversionofleadintoastableandrecyclableform.Theeffectsofvariousparameters,suchasacidconcentration,temperature,andreactiontime,wereinvestigatedtooptimizethedissolutionprocess. 3.Precipitationandconversionoflead:Variousprecipitationagents,suchassodiumsulfide(Na2S),sodiumcarbonate(Na2CO3),andsodiumhydroxide(NaOH),wereevaluatedfortheirefficiencyinprecipitatingleadasastablecompound.Theprecipitatedleadwasfurtherconvertedintoarecyclableform,suchasleadoxide(PbO),leadsulfate(PbSO4),orleadcarbonate(PbCO3),usingappropriateconversionagents.
