InternalWaveformInductionSystem: Theinternalwaveforminductionsystemischaracterizedbyarelativelylargecross-sectionalareaoftheintakeduct,whichcausesairtoenterinaseriesofwavesasittravelsthroughtheduct.Thistypeofinductionsystemisusedprimarilyinlow-speedengines,suchasthoseusedforgeneralaviationandlightaircraft.Thedesignoftheductissuchthatitcreatesalow-pressureareainfrontoftheengine,whichdrawsinmoreairthanatypicalram-airinductionsystem. Onesignificantadvantageoftheinternalwaveforminductionsystemisthatitislesssusceptibletoicingthanothertypesofsystems.Icingcanoccurwhenmoistureintheairfreezeswithintheinductionsystem,limitingairflowandreducingenginepower.Thewaveformdesignoftheinternalinductionsystemminimizesthechanceoficingbecauseitcreatesturbulencewithintheductandpreventsicefromadheringtothewalls.
