Introduction ThemostcriticalandchallengingcomponentofanLNGcarrieristhecargotankcontainmentsystem,whichisresponsibleforpreservingandsafelytransportingtheLNGcargo.Thesystemisdesignedwithaseriesofbarrierstoensurethatthecargoremainsinaliquidstateatalltimesduringtransportation.Thesebarriersincludeprimaryandsecondarybarriers,whicharedesignedtopreventanyunwantedspillsorleaks.Theprimarybarrierisametallicmembrane,usuallymadefromstainlesssteel,andthesecondarybarrierisalayerofinsulation,whichprovidesthermalinsulationandhelpsmaintainthedesiredtemperature.Theinsulationmaterialsincludepolystyrenefoam,corkpowder,polyurethanefoamoracombinationofthesematerials. AsthecargocontainmentsystemisincrediblycriticalforthesafetransportationofLNG,supportingstructuresplayavitalroleinensuringthesystem’sintegrityduringinstallation,operation,andmaintenance.Thesestructuresincludetheplatform,whichsupportstheLNGtankanditsinsulation.Thestructuralstrengthoftheplatformiscriticalasitkeepsthecargocontainmentsystemrigidandstable,therebyreducingtheriskofanyfailureorleaks. Staticloadanalysisdeterminesthestructure'sresistance
