TraditionalGeneralizedBeamFunctions Traditionalgeneralizedbeamfunctionsarefunctionsthatmustsatisfythedifferentialequationsandboundaryconditionsofthebeam.Thesefunctionscanbeusedtodescribethevibrationofsingle-spanbeamswithsimpleboundaryconditions.However,formulti-spanbeamswithdifferentboundaryconditions,thereisnounifiedandefficientmethod.Moreover,traditionalgeneralizedbeamfunctionscannotusuallybeusedincomplexstructuresduetotheircomplicatedmathematicalexpressions. NewGeneralizedBeamFunctions Inordertosolvetheproblemswithtraditionalgeneralizedbeamfunctions,weproposeanewtypeofgeneralizedbeamfunction.Thenewgeneralizedbeamfunctioncanbeexpressedasapiecewisefunction,whichcombinesthefine-tunedtraditionalgeneralizedbeamfunctions.Weapplythisnewtypeofgeneralizedbeamfunctionintheanalysisofmulti-spanbeamsandplatestoshowitseffectiveness. ApplicationoftheNewGeneralizedBeamFunctions Weapplythenewgeneralizedbeamfunctionstoanalyzethevibrationofmulti-spanbeamsandplates.Firstly,wediscusstheanalysisofsingle-spanbeamsandestablishthemathematicalexpressionusingtraditionalgeneralizedbeamfunctions.Secondly,weextendthismethodtotheanalysisofmulti-spanbeams.Weestablishthemathematicalexpressionsofthenewgeneralizedbeamfunctionsthroughtheuseofpiecewisefunctionscombinedwiththefine-tuningoftraditionalgeneralizedbeamfunctions.
