Introduction Asphaltpavingmaterialsplayacriticalroleinthetransportationinfrastructure,ensuringthesmoothandsafeoperationofroadsandhighways.However,environmentalfactorssuchassunlight,heat,moisture,andchemicalerosioncancausetheagingofasphalt,resultinginbrittleness,cracking,andrutting.Thisdeteriorationnotonlyleadstoanincreaseinmaintenancecostsbutalsojeopardizesthesafetyofroadusers.Theuseofasphaltrejuvenatorshasbeenproposedasasolutiontorejuvenateagedasphaltandrestoreitsoriginalproperties.Asphaltrejuvenatorscanbedefinedasamaterialthatcanreturntheagedasphalttoitsoriginalstateorbetterbyreplenishingorrestoringsomeofitsessentialcomponents.Theidealrejuvenatorimprovesthemechanicalproperties,safeservicelife,andsustainabilityofasphaltpavementwithoutposinganynegativeimpactontheenvironment. Theuseofwastematerials,includingcoaltar,waxoil,branaldehyde,andtaroil,inthepreparationofasphaltrejuvenatorshasgainedconsiderableinterestinrecentyearsduetotheadvantagessuchaslowcostandenvironmentalsustainability.Theextractionofthesematerialsinvolvestheuseofdistillationprocesses,whichremovestheimpuritiesandisolatestheessentialcomponentsrequiredforrejuvenation.
