Introduction Wirelesscommunicationsystemssufferfrommultipathfadingandinterference,whichgreatlydegradethequalityofwirelesstransmissions.Toimprovetheperformanceofwirelesssystems,equalizationtechniquesarewidelyusedinwirelesscommunicationsystemstoeliminatetheeffectsofmultipathfadingandinterference.Blindequalization,whichdoesnotrequiretheknowledgeofthetransmissionchannel,isanimportantapproachtoequalization,especiallyformobilecommunicationsystemswherethechannelmayvaryrapidly. Spacedivisionisanotherimportanttechniquethatcanbeusedtoimprovetheequalizationperformance.Itmakesitpossibletofullyutilizethespatialdiversitythatexistsinmultipleantennasystems,suchasMIMO(Multiple-InputandMultiple-Output)systems.Decisionfeedbackequalization(DFE)isanotherwidelyusedequalizationtechnique,inwhichtheequalizerfiltersthereceivedsignalinbothforwardandbackwarddirections,whichmakesitaneffectivemeansofreducingtheinterference.Inthispaper,weproposeanewjointblindequalizationalgorithmbasedonspacedivisionanddecisionfeedbackstructure,whichcanfurtherimprovetheequalizationperformanceofwirelesscommunicationsystems.
