Introduction Inductionmotorshavebeenwidelyusedinvariousindustriesduetotheiradvantagessuchassimplestructure,reliableoperation,andeasymaintenance.However,intheactualoperationprocess,theinductionmotorhaspoorperformanceunderweakmagneticconditions,whichaffectstheefficiencyofthemotor.Theweakmagneticconditionreferredtotheconditionthatthestatormagneticfieldisweakornotfullyutilizedtoexcitetherotor.Thisconditionoftenoccursinthestart-upprocessorwhenthemotoroperatesunderalightload.Duringtheseprocesses,theinductionmotorconsumesmoreenergy,andtheefficiencyislower,whichdamagestheeconomicefficiencyoftheelectricmotorsystem. Thetraditionalmethodofimprovingtheperformanceofinductionmotorsunderweakmagneticconditionsistoincreasethestatorvoltageorreducethestatorresistancetocompensateforthemagnetizationloss.However,thismethodwillincreasethereactivepowerloss,resultinginlowerenergyefficiencyofthemotor.Therefore,itisnecessarytodevelopanewmethodfortheweakmagneticcontrolofinductionmotors,whichcanimprovethemotor'sperformanceunderweakmagneticconditions,enhancethemotorenergyefficiencyandreducethesystemloss.
