Introduction Landslideisageologicaleventthatresultsinthesuddenmovementofsoil,rock,andotherdebrisdownaslope.Itcancausegreatdamagetohumanlifeandproperty.Landslideriskassessmentisacrucialtaskindisasterpreventionandmitigation.Thepurposeoflandslideriskassessmentistoidentifythepotentialhazards,evaluatethelevelofrisk,andsuggestpossiblemeasurestoreducetherisk.Becausetheevaluationoflandslideriskinvolvesmulti-criteriadecision-makingproblems,AHPisanappropriatemethodtouse. TheAnalyticHierarchyProcess(AHP) AHPisamulti-criteriadecision-makingmethoddevelopedbyThomasSaatyinthelate1970s.Itisamathematicaltechniqueforanalyzingcomplexdecisionproblemswithmultiplecriteriaandalternatives.AHPinvolvesthefollowingsteps: 1.Identificationoftheproblemandthecriteriatobeusedfortheevaluation. 2.Creationofahierarchicalstructuretoorganizethecriteria,alternatives,andsub-criteria. 3.Pairwisecomparisonofthecriteriaandalternativestoobtaintheirrelativeweights. 4.Calculationoftheoverallscoresofthealternativesbasedonweightedcriteria. Inthefirststep,itisnecessarytoidentifytheevaluationcriteriaforlandslideriskassessment.Thecriteriashouldbeselectedbasedontheirrelevance,importance,andfeasibility.Forexample,someofthecriteriathatarecommonlyusedinlandslideriskassessmentincludeslopegradient,soiltype,rainfall,vegetationcover,seismicactivity,andhumanactivities. Inthesecondstep,ahierarchicalstructureiscreatedtoorganizethecriteriaandalternatives.Thestructuresh
