Introduction Pulseamplitudeanalysisisanimportanttechniquewidelyusedinnuclearphysicsexperiments,radiationmonitoring,andmedicalimaging.Itcanextracttheinformationoftheradiationenergyfromthepulseamplitude,whichisvitalfordeterminingtheenergyspectrumoftheradiationsourceandidentifyingtheradioisotope.Withthedevelopmentofmodernelectronicsandcomputertechnologies,thepulseamplitudeanalysissystemhasbeenimprovedandintegratedwithhardwareandsoftwaretoachievehigh-performance,accuracy,andreliability. Inthispaper,wepresentamultichannelpulseamplitudeanalyzerbasedontheAD7634ADCmodule.Thesystemisdesignedtoacquireandprocesspulsesignalsinreal-timewithhightimeresolutionandenergyresolution.TheAD7634isa18-bit,15MSPSsimultaneous-samplingADCwithalownoisefigureandhighcommon-moderejectionratio,makingitsuitableforhigh-precisionpulseamplitudemeasurement.TheFPGAisusedastheprocessingmoduletohandlethereal-timesignalprocessingandtriggerlogic.ThePCisusedtocontrolthesystemthroughtheUSBinterfaceanddisplaytheresults. SystemDesign ThesystemarchitectureisshowninFig.1.Itconsistsoffourmaincomponents:theanalogfront-endcircuit,theAD7634ADCmodule,theFPGAprocessingmodule,andaPCterminalfordataacquisitionandanalysis.
