Introduction Steamturbinesarethebackboneofmodernthermalpowerplants,andthestabilityandefficiencyoftheturbinedependonthesealingsystem.Thelow-pressurecylinderendsealofa300MWunitisthefinalstageofsteamentryintothecondenser,playingavitalroleinmaintainingthepressureandtemperatureofthesteamandpreventingsteamleakage.However,intheoriginaldesignoftheseal,leakageoccurredfrequently,leadingtoproductionloss,decreasedefficiency,andincreasedmaintenancecosts. Inresponse,weconductedacomprehensivestudyontheoriginalsteamsealsystemandproposedrenovationmeasures.Therenovationaimedtoimprovetheseal'ssealingperformance,eliminatesourcesofleakage,andimprovetheoverallplantefficiency,whileminimizingoperationandmaintenancecosts. AnalysisoftheOriginalSteamSealSystem Theoriginalsteamsealofthe300MWunitincludedtwolabyrinthsealringsandonecarbonbrushsealring.Thelabyrinthsealringswerelocatedontherotors,whilethecarbonbrushsealwasinstalledinthestator.Themaincomponentsoftheoriginalsteamsealsystemincludedstationarycomponents,rotatingcomponents,sealingmaterials,andauxiliaryequipment.
