媒介建构论视角下尼泊尔英文主流报纸涉藏报道研究 Title:AStudyofTibet-relatedCoverageinNepal'sMainstreamEnglishNewspapersfromthePerspectiveofMediaConstructionTheory Introduction: Mediaplaysacrucialroleinshapingpublicperceptionsandconstructingdiscoursessurroundingvarioussocial,political,cultural,andinternationalissues.Withinthiscontext,themedia'sroleincoveringtheTibetissueisofparticularinterest.ThispaperaimstoinvestigatethecoverageofTibet-relatednewsinNepal'smainstreamEnglishnewspapersfromtheperspectiveofmediaconstructiontheory.Byanalyzingtheframing,narratives,andbiasesinthenewsarticles,thisstudyseekstounderstandtheportrayaloftheTibetissueinNepal'smedialandscape. TheoreticalFramework:MediaConstructionTheory Mediaconstructiontheorysuggeststhatmediaoutletsactivelyconstructrepresentationsofrealitybychoosingwhichstoriestocover,howtoframethem,andthelanguageusedinreporting.Thistheoryemphasizestheroleofmediainshapingpublicopinionandinfluencingsocietaldiscourses.ApplyingthistheorytothestudyofTibet-relatedcoverageinNepal'sEnglishnewspaperswillallowustocriticallyexaminehowthemediaconstructsandpresentsinformationrelatedtoTibet. Methodology: ThisresearchemploysaqualitativecontentanalysismethodtoexaminenewsarticlesfromthreeleadingEnglish-languagenewspapersinNepal-TheKathmanduPost,TheHimalayanTimes,andRepublica.Atimeframeoffiveyears,from2016to2021,isconsideredtoprovideacomprehensiveexaminationofthemedia'shandlingofTibet-relatedissues.ThesamplewillbeselectedbasedontherelevanceofnewsarticlesfocusingonTibetorTibet-relatedevents. Findings: 1.Framing:TheanalysiswillexploretheframesusedinreportingTibet-relatednews,suchaspolitical,cultural,religious,orhumanrightsframes.Thiswillhelpidentifythedominantnarrativesportrayedinthemediacoverageanddetermineifanyparticularframeisfavoredorneglected. 2.Bias:Theresearchwillexamineanybiasesreflectedinthemediacoverage,includingthepositiveornegativeportrayalofTibetorpartiesinvolvedintheTibetissue.Itwillalsoanalyzethesourcesofinformationandtheircredibility. 3.Agenda-setting:Byexp
