Introduction Theagingpopulationisaglobalphenomenonthatpresentssignificantsocialandeconomicchallenges.Asindividualsgrowolder,theyoftenfacephysicalandcognitivelimitationsthatrequirecaregivingandsupport.Traditionally,familymembershavebeentheprimarycaregiversforelderlyindividuals,providingthemwithassistanceandensuringtheirwell-being.However,associetalstructureschangeandpeople'slivingarrangementsbecomemorediverse,theavailabilityoffamilycaregivingmaydiminish.Consequently,manyolderadultsmayconsiderinstitutionalcareasanalternative. Thedecisiontomoveintoaninstitutionalcarefacilityisnotasimpleoneforolderindividuals.Itinvolvesvariousconsiderations,includingfinancialimplications,healthcareservicesprovided,andtheavailabilityofsocialsupport.Additionally,thepresenceorabsenceoffamilycaregivinghasbeenfoundtobeacrucialfactorinfluencingthedecision-makingprocess.Thus,understandingtheimpactoffamilycaregivingonthewillingnessofolderadultstooptforinstitutionalcareisofutmostimportance.
