Introduction: Rockburstisadynamicphenomenonthatfrequentlyoccursinundergroundminingandtunneling.Itischaracterizedbythesuddenandviolentejectionofrockfragments,posingseriousriskstoequipment,personnel,andthestabilityofsurroundingstructures.TheQianmeiFormation,knownforitshighrockburstpotential,haswitnessednumerousaccidentsinrecentyears,necessitatingacomprehensiveinvestigationintoitsproclivityforrockburstoccurrence. Methods: Thesingle-axisloading-unloadingtestisawidelyusedmethodtostudyrockburstphenomena.Inthisstudy,coresamplesfromtheQianmeiFormationwereextractedandpreparedforlaboratorytesting.Thetestapparatusconsistedofahydraulicloadingdevice,straingauge,anddisplacementsensor. Results: Theresultsoftheloading-unloadingtestsrevealedimportantcharacteristicsofrockburstproclivityintheQianmeiFormation.Thesamplesexhibitednonlinearstress-straincurves,indicatingthepresenceofhighstressconcentrationzoneswithintherockmass.Moreover,thestrainratesduringunloadingdemonstratedsignificantjumpsatspecificstresslevels,suggestingtheexistenceofpotentialenergyaccumulationpoints. Discussion: Basedontheexperimentalresults,itcanbeinferredthattherockburstoccurrenceintheQianmeiFormationiscloselyrelatedtoitsgeologicalandmechanicalproperties.Thehighstressconcentrationzonesserveaspreferentialfracturepaths,enablingtherapidreleaseofstoredenergy.Theidentifiedpotentialenergyaccumulationpointsactascriticaltriggersforrockburstevents.Factorssuchasbeddingpla
