Keywords:Atmosphericaerosol,aerosolopticalthickness,MODIS,NanchangCity 1.Introduction AtmosphericaerosolsconsistoffinesolidorliquidparticlessuspendedintheEarth'satmosphere.Theyarepredominantlyreleasedfrombothnaturalandanthropogenicsourcesandhavesignificantimpactsonclimate,weatherpatterns,airquality,andpublichealth.Aerosolopticalthickness(AOT),representingtheattenuationofsolarradiationduetoaerosolparticles,isacrucialparameterusedtocharacterizeaerosolloadingintheatmosphere. 2.Objective ThemainobjectiveofthisstudyistoretrievetheAOTinNanchangCityusingMODISdata.ByanalyzingthespatiotemporalvariationsofAOT,weaimtogaininsightintothecharacteristicsofaerosolpollutionintheregion. 3.Methodology TheretrievalofAOTisbasedontheMODISCollection6Level2aerosolproduct.TheDarkTarget(DT)algorithmandDeepBlue(DB)algorithmareemployedtoestimateAOTat550nm.TheDTalgorithmusesthesurfacereflectanceoverdarkvegetationareastoderiveAOT,whiletheDBalgorithmutilizesthenear-infraredwavelengthstoretrieveAOToverbrightsurfaces,includingdesert,arid,andsemi-aridregions. 4.DataCollectionandPre-processing MODISTerraandAquasatelliteimagesfortheyear____wereacquired.Thedatawerepre-processedtoremovecloud-contaminatedpixelsandotherartifacts.TheatmosphericcorrectionwasperformedusingtheAerosolRoboticNetwork(AERONET)data,whichprovideground-basedmeasurementsofAOT. 5.AOTRetrievalResults TheretrievedAOTvaluesforNanchangCitywereanalyzed,andtheirtemporalandspatialvariatio
