Introduction HematiteisacommonironoxidemineralthatiswidelydistributedintheEarth'scrust.Itisanimportantsourceofironandisusedextensivelyintheproductionofsteel.However,certainhematiteoreshavehighsulfurcontent,whichcanlimittheiruseintheproductionofhigh-qualitysteel.Therefore,itisnecessarytoreducethesulfurcontentoftheseoreswhileincreasingtheirironcontent.Thisstudyaimstodevelopaneffectivebeneficiationprocessforamagnetichematiteorethatinvolvesreducingthesulfurcontentandincreasingtheironcontent. ExperimentalMethods ThemagnetichematiteoreusedinthisstudywasobtainedfromamineinChina.Theorewasfirstcrushedandgroundtoasizeof80%passing74μm.Thesamplewasthensplitintothreesizefractions:-0.075+0.038mm,-0.038+0.025mm,and-0.025mm.Eachsizefractionwassubjectedtogravityconcentrationusingashakingtable.Theconcentrateandtailingswerethensubjectedtomagneticseparationusingawethigh-intensitymagneticseparator(WHIMS).Thesulfidereductiontechniquewascarriedoutusingsodiumsulfide(Na2S)asthereducingagent. ResultsandDiscussion Theresultsoftheexperimentsshowedthatthesulfidereductiontechniquesignificantlyreducedthesulfurcontentoftheore.Thesulfurcontentwasreducedfrom0.6%to0.24%,whichisareductionof60%.Theconcentrationandmagneticseparationtechniqueseffectivelyincreasedtheironcontent.Theironrecoveryratefortheconcentrateobtainedfromthe-0.075+0.038mmsizefractionwas87.44%,whichwasthehighestamongthethreesizefractions.Theironcontentoftheconcentrateincreasedfrom44.99%to63.32%,
