英语官方语国家初级汉语学习者普通话声调习得实验分析 Title:AnExperimentalAnalysisontheAcquisitionofMandarinChineseTonesbyEnglish-SpeakingBeginners Introduction: MandarinChinese,astheofficiallanguageofChinaandspokeninvariousregionsworldwide,hasadistinctivefeatureknownastones.Tonesplayavitalroleinthelanguageastheydeterminethemeaningofwords.However,forEnglish-speakinglearners,acquiringanddistinguishingMandarintonescanbechallenging.ThispaperaimstoanalyzetheacquisitionofMandarinChinesetonesbyEnglish-speakingbeginnersthroughanexperimentalstudy. Methodology: ThestudyconsistedofagroupofEnglish-speakingbeginnerslearningMandarinChineseasaforeignlanguage.Apre-testwasconductedtoassesstheparticipants'initialunderstandingofMandarintones.Theparticipantswerethendividedintotwogroups:theexperimentalgroupandthecontrolgroup.Theexperimentalgroupreceivedexplicittoneinstruction,whilethecontrolgroupreceivedregularMandarinChineselessonswithoutafocusontones.Afteraspecificperiodofinstruction,apost-testwasconductedtoevaluatetheparticipants'progressinacquiringMandarintones. DataAnalysis: Thedatacollectedfromboththepre-testandpost-testwereanalyzedusingstatisticalmethods.Theresultswerecategorizedintothreeaspects:tonerecognition,toneproduction,andoveralltoneaccuracy.Eachaspectwasassessedbasedonitsowncriteriatoevaluatetheparticipants'progressinacquiringMandarintones. Results: Theresultsshowedasignificantimprovementintheexperimentalgroupcomparedtothecontrolgroupinallthreeaspects.TheexperimentalgroupdemonstratedahigherabilitytorecognizeandproduceMandarintonesaccurately,indicatingthatexplicittoneinstructionpositivelyinfluencedtheirtoneacquisition.Incontrast,thecontrolgroupshowedlessimprovement,suggestingthatregularMandarinChineselessonswithoutaspecificfocusontonesmightnotbesufficientforEnglish-speakingbeginners.
