Introduction: Steelslag,generatedasaresultofsteelproduction,isamajorindustrialwaste.Itsdisposalposessignificantenvironmentalchallengesduetoitshighalkalinityandpotentialleachingofheavymetals.Toaddressthesechallenges,researcheffortshavebeenfocusedonenhancingthereactivityofsteelslagbyinvestigatingdifferentchemicaladditives.Amongthevariousadditives,modifiedBayeritehasshownpromisingresultsinimprovingtheactivityofindustrialwastematerialslikecoalflyashandPortlandcement.Inthispaper,weaimtoinvestigatetheeffectivenessofmodifiedBayeriteinenhancingtheactivityofsteelslag. Methods: 1.SamplePreparation:SteelslagandBayerite(Al(OH)3)werechosenasthemainmaterials.Thesteelslagwascollectedfromalocalsteelmanufacturingplantandwasdriedandgroundtoaspecificparticlesize.Bayeritewasmodifiedusingasimpleandeconomicalmethod. 2.Characterization:ThemodifiedBayeriteandsteelslagsampleswerecharacterizedusingvarioustechniques,suchasX-raydiffraction(XRD),Fourier-transforminfraredspectroscopy(FTIR),andscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM).Thesetechniqueswereemployedtoanalyzechangesinphasecomposition,functionalgroups,andparticlemorphology. 3.ActivityEvaluation:Thereactivityofsteelslagwasassessedbyevaluatingitshydrationproperties.Differentmixtureso
