Introduction
CBAbasketballhasgainedincreasingpopularityinChina,andevaluatingtheperformanceofCBAteamsplaysacrucialroleinassessingtheirstrengthandpotential.AneffectiveevaluationofCBAteamsrequirestheconsiderationofmultiplevariablesthatreflectvariousaspectsofteamperformance.Toachievethis,theuseofacomprehensiveevaluationindexandthedeterminationofappropriateweightsforeachindexisnecessary.Inthispaper,weproposeamethodbasedonprincipalcomponentanalysis(PCA)tocalculatetheweightsofthecomprehensiveevaluationindexforCBAteams.
Methodology
ThePCAmethodisawidelyusedstatisticaltechniquethataimstoreducethedimensionalityofadatasetwhilepreservingitsvariance.Itinvolvestransformingasetofcorrelatedvariablesintoasmallersetofuncorrelatedvariablescalledprincipalcomponents.ThePCAmethodcaneffectivelycapturetheinformationcontainedintheoriginalvariablesandextractthemostrelevantfeatures.
