Introduction Automotivedoorpanelisanimportantpartofinteriordecoration,whichplaysavitalroleinimprovinguserexperienceandaestheticsofautomobiledesign.Thewheelarchsurfaceinthedoorpanelisacrucialfunctionalareathatispronetowrinklesduringthestampingprocessduetomaterialdeformationandimproperstructure.Additionally,theoptimaldesignofthewheelarchsurfaceischallengedbymanyfactors,includingproductappearancerequirements,materialproperties,processcontrol,andtherelationshipbetweendesignparametersandproductioncost. AutoFormsoftwareiswidelyusedinsheetmetalformingsimulationandoptimizationduetoitshighaccuracyandefficiency.Therefore,inthispaper,AutoFormisusedtooptimizethewheelarchsurfaceoftheautomotivedoorpanelandtoreducewrinkling. Methodology Firstly,thedesignparametersofthewheelarchsurface,includingshape,curvature,andsize,wereextractedfromactualproducts.Theparameterswerethenassembledintoa2DsheetmetalmodelusingCADsoftware.Subsequently,themodelwasimportedintoAutoFormforformingsimulationusingapredefinedmaterialdatabase. Aftercompletingthesimulation,theresultsofthepressureandstraindistributionofthesheetmetalwereanalyzed.Basedontheseresults,thecausesofwrinkleswereidentified,andsolutionswereprovided.Thesesolutionsincludedadjustingthecurvatureandshapeofthewheelarchsurface,optimizingprocesscontrolandtheselectionofpropertooling.
