Methodology: Toconductthisempiricalstudy,asampleofhighschoolstudentslearningEnglishasaforeignlanguagewasselected.Thesamplesizeconsistedofbothgendersandincludedstudentsfromdifferentproficiencylevels.Apre-testandpost-testwereadministeredtoassessparticipants'initialandfinalvocabularyknowledgeandtomeasuretheeffectivenessofthevocabularylearningstrategiesemployed. Results: 1.VocabularyLearningStrategies: Thestudyexaminedvariousvocabularylearningstrategies,includingrotememorization,wordassociations,contextclues,wordfamilies,andactiveusage.Thefindingsrevealedthefollowing: 1.1RoteMemorization: Whilerotememorizationcanbetime-consuming,itwasfoundtobeaneffectivestrategyforimmediaterecallofwords.Participantswhousedthisstrategyshowedimprovementinshort-termmemorization. 1.2WordAssociations: Usingwordassociationsenhancedparticipants'abilitytoconnectnewwordswithpreviouslyacquiredvocabulary.Thisstrategywasfoundtoincreasetheretentionofvocabulary. 1.3ContextClues: Participantswhoutilizedcontextclueswereabletodeducewordmeaningfromthesurroundingtext.Thisstrategyhelpedimprovereadingcomprehensionandenhancedvocabularyretention. 1.4WordFamilies: Studyingwordfamilies,includingprefixes,suffixes,androotwords,enabledparticipantstoinferthemeaningsofunfamiliarwords.Thisstrategyprovedusefulinexpandingparticipants'vocabulary. 1.5ActiveUsage: Engaginginactivitiessuchaswritingsentences,creatingdialogues,andparticipatingindiscussionsusingnewlylearnedvocabularyreinforcedwordusage.Par
