Title:ComparisonofCoronaryArteryDiseaseFeaturesAssociatedwithSTSegmentDepressioninNon-STSegmentElevationAcuteMyocardialInfarctionPatients
Introduction:
Non-STsegmentelevationacutemyocardialinfarction(NSTEMI)isatypeofheartattackcharacterizedbyischemicmyocardialinjurywithoutsignificantSTsegmentelevationontheelectrocardiogram(ECG).However,STsegmentdepressionmaypresentinsomeNSTEMIpatients,indicatingunderlyingcoronaryarterydisease(CAD).ThisstudyaimstocomparethecoronaryarterydiseasefeaturesassociatedwithSTsegmentdepressioninNSTEMIpatients.
Methods:
AliteraturereviewwasconductedtoidentifyrelevantstudiesinvestigatingthecorrelationbetweenSTsegmentdepressionandcoronaryarterydiseaseinNSTEMIpatients.Theselectedstudiesincludedthosewithasufficientsamplesize,cleardefinitionsofSTsegmentdepression,andcomprehensiveassessmentofcoronaryarterydiseasefeatures.Dataonpatientdemographics,cardiacriskfactors,angiographicfindings,andclinicaloutcomeswereextractedfromtheincludedstudies.
Results:
TheresultsoftheliteraturereviewrevealedseveralkeyfindingsregardingthecoronaryarterydiseasefeaturesassociatedwithSTsegmentdepressioninNSTEMIpatients.
1.Degreeandextentofcoronaryarterystenosis:NSTEMIpatientswithSTsegmentdepressiontendtohaveahigherprevalenceandseverityofcoronaryarterystenosiscomparedtothosewithoutSTsegmentdepression.ThepresenceofSTsegmentdepressionisassociatedwithagreaternumberofstenoticvesselsandincreasedoveralldiseaseburden.
2.Multivesseldisease:NSTEMIpatientswithSTsegmentdepressionaremorelikelytopresentwithmultivesseldisease(MVD)comparedtothosewithoutSTsegmentdepression.Theinvolvementofmultiplecoronaryarteriescontributestoahigherriskofadversecardiaceventsandrequiresaggressivemanagementstrategies.
3.Leftmaincoronaryarteryinvolvement:STsegmentdepressioninNSTEMIpatientsoftenindicatesinvolvementoftheleftmaincoronaryartery,whichisacriticalarterysupplyingalargeportionofthemyocardium.Leftmaindiseaseisassociatedwithahigherriskofmajoradversecardiaceventsandmayneces
