CentralParkwasdesignatedaNationalHistoricLandmark(listedbytheU.S.DepartmentoftheInteriorandadministeredbytheNationalParkService)in1962.TheParkwasmanagedfordecadesbytheNewYorkCityDepartmentofParksandRecreation,andiscurrentlymanagedbytheCentralParkConservancyundercontractwiththemunicipalgovernmentinapublic-privatepartnership.TheConservancyisanon-profitorganizationthatcontributes75percentofCentralPark's$65millionannualbudgetandisresponsibleforallbasiccareofthe843-acrepark.
