CurrentSituation: 1.LimitedOpportunitiesforActiveParticipation:InmanyprimaryEnglishclassrooms,traditionalteachingmethodsdominate,leavinglittleroomforstudentstoactivelyengageinthelearningprocess.Studentsoftenpassivelylistentoteachers'explanationswithoutbeingencouragedtoaskquestionsorexpresstheirthoughts. 2.OveremphasisonClosed-EndedQuestions:Closed-endedquestions,whichrequireshort,directanswers,arefrequentlyusedbyteachersinprimaryEnglishclassrooms.Whilethesequestionsservetheirpurposeintestingcomprehension,theydonotpromotecriticalthinkingordevelopstudents'languageskillseffectively. 3.LackofScaffoldedQuestioning:Teachersoftendonotprovideenoughscaffoldingtosupportstudentsinansweringquestions.Thisresultsinthemajorityofstudentsgivingsurface-levelresponses,limitingthedepthoftheirunderstanding. 4.FearofMistakes:ManyprimaryEnglishstudentsareoftenhesitanttoanswerquestionsduetothefearofmakingmistakesinfrontoftheirpeers.Thisfearinhibitstheirparticipationandlimitstheirlearningopportunities.
