Method: Thestudyemploysamixed-methodsapproach,combiningsurveysandinterviews,tocollectdatafromasampleofelementaryschoolstudents.ThesurveywillconsistofLikert-scalequestionsandopen-endedquestionstocapturebothquantitativeandqualitativedata.TheparticipantswillbeaskedtoratetheirownindependentlearningskillsandprovideexamplesofhowtheytackleEnglishlanguagelearningoutsideoftheclassroom.Theinterviewswillallowforin-depthexplorationoftheirexperiences,challenges,andstrategies. Results: Basedonthedataanalysis,itisexpectedthattheresearchwillyieldthefollowingfindings: 1.AwarenessofIndependentLearning:Thestudywillrevealtheextenttowhichelementaryschoolstudentsunderstandtheconceptofindependentlearning.ItwillexplorehowmuchimportancetheyassigntoindependentEnglishlearningandtheirwillingnesstotakeresponsibilityfortheirlearning. 2.ConfidenceinLanguageSkills:Theresearchwillexaminestudents'confidenceintheirEnglishlanguageabilitiesoutsidetheclassroom.Itwillexploretheirperceptionoftheirstrengthsandweaknessesinlistening,speaking,reading,andwritingskills. 3.StrategiesandResources:ThestudywillshedlightonthestrategiesandresourceselementaryschoolstudentsemploytoenhancetheirEnglishlanguageproficiency.Thisincludesself-studytechniques,useoftechnology,accessinglearningresourcessuchasbooks,onlineplatforms,andlanguageexchangeprograms. 4.BarrierstoIndependentLearning:Theresearchwillidentifythebarriersthathinderstudentsfromdevelopingindependent
