Introduction: Theabilitytolearnindependentlyisessentialinanever-changingworld,andthisholdstrueforEnglishlanguagelearningamongcollegestudents.Inthetraditionaleducationsystem,studentstypicallyrelyheavilyonteachers'guidanceandinstruction.However,therapiddevelopmentoftechnologyandaccesstoavastamountofonlineresourceshavemadeautonomouslearningmoreaccessibleandeffective.ThisstudyseekstoexaminethepracticalityandeffectivenessofautonomousEnglishlearningamongcollegestudentsandidentifythefactorsthatcontributetosuccessfulself-directedlearning. Methods: Thisstudyutilizesamixed-methodapproach,combiningbothqualitativeandquantitativeresearchmethods.Asurveyquestionnairewillbedistributedtoasampleofcollegestudents,aimingtoobtaindiverseperspectivesontheircurrentEnglishlearninghabitsandattitudes.Additionally,in-depthinterviewswillbeconductedwithselectedparticipantstogainadeeperunderstandingoftheirexperiencesandperceptionsregardingautonomouslearning. Findings: Thefindingsofthisresearchwillbeanalyzedandpresentedthroughvariousthemes.Firstly,thestudywillidentifythecommonstrategiesandresourcesadoptedbysuccessfulautonomousEnglishlearners,suchasutilizingonlineplatforms,self-assessment,andkeepingalanguagelearningjournal.Additionally,theresearchwillexploretheroleofmotivation,self-efficacy,andself-regulationinself-directedEnglishlanguagelearning.Furthermore,thestudywillinvestigatethepotentialchallengesand
