多面Rasch模型在英演讲比赛中的应用研究 Title:ApplicationoftheMultifacetedRaschModelinEnglishSpeakingCompetitions Abstract: English-speakingcompetitionsserveasplatformsforparticipantstoshowcasetheircommunicationskillsandlanguageproficiency.Withtheincreasingpopularityofthesecompetitions,itbecomescrucialtoestablishfairandaccurateevaluationsofparticipants'performance.TheMultifacetedRaschModel,awidelyadoptedpsychometricmodel,offersavaluabletoolforassessingandanalyzingthedatacollectedfromsuchcompetitions.ThispaperexplorestheapplicationoftheMultifacetedRaschModelinEnglish-speakingcompetitionsanddiscussesitsbenefitsintermsofvalidandreliableevaluation,itemcalibration,andfeedbackgeneration. 1.Introduction English-speakingcompetitionshavegainedimmensepopularityinrecentyearsduetotheirabilitytoassessparticipants'languageproficiencyandcommunicationskillseffectively.However,traditionalevaluationmethodshavecertainlimitations,suchassubjectivity,lackofstandardization,andinabilitytoprovidecomprehensivefeedback.TheMultifacetedRaschModeloffersasolutiontotheseissuesbyprovidingarigorousandstatisticalframeworkforevaluation. 2.TheMultifacetedRaschModel TheMultifacetedRaschModelisanextensionoftheRaschModelthataccommodatesmultiplefacetsorsourcesofvariationinperformanceassessment.Itconsidersmultiplefactors,suchasjudgeseverity,itemdifficulty,andparticipantability,simultaneouslytoestimatetheprobabilityofacorrectresponse.Thismodelensuresafairandreliableevaluationbyaccountingforvarioussourcesofvariation. 3.CalibrationofItems OneofthekeyadvantagesoftheMultifacetedRaschModelisitsabilitytocalibrateitemsaccurately.Itemcalibrationinvolvesestimatingthedifficultylevelofeachiteminthecompetition.Thisinformationhelpsincategorizingitemsandcreatingasuitablequestionbankwithitemsrangingfromeasytodifficult.Additionally,itemcalibrationoffersinsightsintothediscriminativepowerofeachitem,enablingcompetitionorganizerstoselectitemsthateffectivelydifferentiateparticipantsbasedontheirlanguageproficiency. 4.AnalysisofParticipantAbility T
