Introduction: TheA-Hmodel,alsoknownastheaugmentedSolowmodel,isawidelyusedtheoreticalframeworktoexaminethefactorsthatdriveeconomicgrowth.ThemodelisanextensionoftheSolowmodel,whichassumesthateconomicgrowthisdeterminedbyasetofexogenousvariables,suchascapitalaccumulationandpopulationgrowth.TheA-Hmodeladdshumancapitalandtechnologicalinnovationasendogenousfactorsthataffecteconomicgrowth.Theadditionofhumancapitalandtechnologicalinnovationtothemodeloffersamorenuancedunderstandingofthedriversofeconomicgrowth. Literaturereview: NumerousstudieshaveexaminedtherelationshipbetweentechnologicalinnovationandeconomicgrowthundertheA-Hmodel.Thefindingsofthesestudieshavebeenpositive,suggestingthattechnologicalinnovationhasasignificantpositiveimpactoneconomicgrowth.AstudydonebyFagerbergetal.(2006)foundapositiverelationshipbetweentechnologicalinnovationandeconomicgrowthin17OECDcountriesovertheperiod1970-2000.Furthermore,thestudyfoundthatthecontributionoftechnologicalinnovationtoeconomicgrowthincreasedovertime,particularlyinthe1990s. AnotherstudyconductedbyAghionandHowitt(2006)foundthateconomiesthatinvestedmoreinresearchanddevelopment(R&D)experiencedhigherlevelsofeconomicgrowth.ThestudyalsofoundthateconomieswithmorefavorableR&Denvironments,suchasstrongintellectualpropertyrightsprotectionandinfrastructure,hadahigherlikelihoodofproducingsuccessfulinnovationsthatcontributetoeconomicgrowth.
